Now there is an opportunity for all those young people excited about learning
to dance. Our purpose is to impact the lives of the young and empower them through
dancing.
Our dedication to teaching children's partner dance is evident by both the joy
and skill seen in our students.
RI DanceSport students have the opportunity to compete in some of the
country's most prestigious ballroom and Latin competitions.
One of the founding beliefs of our program is that partner dancing teaches
important social skills. Our students learn not only how to be graceful,
coordinated and poised, but how to be self-disciplined, self-confident and well
rounded. While attaining more refined manners and better posture, our students
also leave the studio with an education in cultural diversity.
At RI DanceSport, students gain insight into other cultures through their study
of dances like salsa, foxtrot, waltz, tango and rumba, to name a few. Our own
multicultural staff and student body further supplements this cultural
education. For all these reasons (and many more) we believe involvement in
partner dance is one of the greatest ways to boost a young persons self-esteem
and help them feel comfortable in any social and or cultural setting.
If we give our youth the gift of social dance, then we have prepared them for the
future with poise and confidence that will last them a lifetime. Let us work
together to regain the art of dance in our youth!
